Sunrise at Klosterkogel | Admont

Last Sunday I had for the first time since I am back in Admont the opportunity to go out with my cam. I had arranged a tour around the Klosterkogel with my hiking app Komoot. The goal was to catch the sunrise from a certain height on the mountain. Sunrise in the middle of summer means getting up very early and so I started at 03 o'clock in the morning in the direction of Röthelstein Castle, the starting point of my tour.

After about half an hour, I already noticed that it was going to be a tight time to catch the sunrise from a suitable spot. So I unpacked my tripod and took a first photo, even though I was not very happy with the motive and location.

I hurried up the hill and after a few minutes I found a very good place to catch the sunrise on a small path off the track.

Sometimes you just have to be lucky, at 02 am there was a thunderstorm and very heavy rain. The clouds were hanging in 2 layers deep above the Enns valley and the air was extremely humid, all ingredients for an extremely colorful sunrise. The rising sun was hiding behind the upper cloud layer, which gradually turned blood red! In the next half hour a color explosion occurred in the sky above the Gesäuse National Park!

I did not regret for a minute that I got out of bed this morning. In the course of the further walking and hiking around the Klosterkogel some more pictures were taken, which you can find in my new story!
