Last week we had a bridge day in Germany! I used the corresponding holiday for a trip to the nearby Eifel! The destination were the caves and canyons around the small village of Kell. The hike I choose had a length of about 12 km and a difference in altitude of about 400 m.

I had planned to be at location very early, as it is quite crowded on holidays and weekdays. At 05 am I set off and arrived at 06.15 am at the starting point of the tour (hiking park lot Bergwege).
The weather was badly announced, but that didn't stop me! The first 3 hours of the tour it only rained! I went down over open fields into the Pönter valley for approx. 2 km.
Over a hill with wonderful views of the Brohl Valley I went into the same! Shortly before the Trass cave, a very nice photo motive with the viaduct of the Vulkan Express is given.
Through the Trass Caves I continue to the Wolfs Gorge.
From there I went back to the starting point of the tour, the hiking parking lot Bergwege where I arrived around noon.
For me it was a wonderful day to let my soul dangle once. I enjoyed the weather, perfect for this hike. Only the sound of raindrops on the leafy canopy of the woods and the soft splashing of the many streams along the way! Perfect!
