As a landscape photographer you are not always rewarded with beautiful landscapes. More and more often I find myself in landscapes which are directly or indirectly destroyed by climate change or humans.
I was first confronted with the massive effects of a bark beetle plague in the Canadian forests about 1 year ago. Entire areas in otherwise beautiful national parks have fallen victim to this plague.
Now I spend a lot of time in the woods near my German residence. Almost all spruce forests are affected by this plague and are irretrievably lost!
